Another Abbot-Downing product was this sightseeing coach
used in national parks. Like the famous Concords, the Yellowstone
coach was slung on leather thorough-braces, and with crowding could carry
twelve passengers.
In Yellowstone Park two hundred of these vehicles carried
visitors and hotel guests on leisurely tours through the mountains.
Four to six horses pulled each, and tourists returning year after year
became almost as fond of favorite teams as of the scenery. A sotck of
two thousand horses was maintained to operate the Yellowstone coaches,
replaced by motor buses in 1917. These coaches are once again
operating today in Yellowstone Park!
